Bookends - Wood - Two owl-themed bookends.

Pair of bookends, made of lacquered wood. Two hand-carved seated owls as a symbol of (book) wisdom.
The bookends are, quite appropriately, shaped like books (one horizontal and one vertical); the owl itself also sits on a smaller lying book.
The set is in excellent condition; only very light signs of use, no damage. The underside is covered with green felt.
Made between circa 1930 and 1950, more or less in Art Deco style with playful elements of folk art.
