This decorative piece is by designer Henri Heemskerk (1886–1953).
Henri Heemskerk was a renowned artist and designed, like Charles Catteau, decorative glass for Verreries de Scailmont.
Henri Vanheemskerk worked from 1924 for Verreries de Scailmont in Manage (Hainaut, Belgium).
He worked there as Chief Designer until 1951.
Around 1930, Verreries de Scailmont employed more than 800 people and also collaborated with Val Saint-Lambert and Boch Frères from La Louvière.
Henri Vanheemskerk died in 1953.
This decorative eyecatcher is in excellent condition.
The air bubbles, imperfections, and glass threads are characteristic of the production process of that era.
