Touching different textures, shaping them, giving them a new value and an expressive form. To observe my works you could perhaps start from here. The figures emerge with few lines from mysterious, tangled backgrounds, always fixing the ending of a story. Therefore the feeling that pervades the viewer is to share a very precise moment expressed by an instant and unforgettable emotion. The colors move and blend, generating clamor and low-frequency music. An apparent silence, then, that manages to intercept and make reappear in the observer personal experiences and old memories. Gazing at my works is equivalent to looking at ourselves in that fraction of time lived, and in this intimate exercise nostalgia prevails. Perhaps for these reasons, each painting feels familiar to us immediately, and kindly consoles us. Passion, fear, pain, detachment are just past, and finding them before us, outside of us, is comforting. Colors are sometimes fiery and sometimes acidic. Only in mature age did I decide to share my art, and in the last six years I have participated in several group exhibitions in Palermo, Cefalù, and Milan, up to the role of artistic director for a charity exhibition for Operation Smile.
My painting is the ongoing search for peace. A peace understood as inner serenity, which I seek throughout the entire creative process and gradually reach at the end of each painting.
That is how I manage to explain my world when I am immersed in painting.
My work is characterized by a collection of moments, moods, but above all emotions. If emotions are missing, the artwork is missing.
We can do a perfect job down to the smallest details, but if we do it mechanically without any emotion, we have stripped it of its soul.
Touching the material gives me emotion.
Applying the base color gives me emotion.
Finding the alchemy between colors gives me emotion.
The final touch of color gives me emotion because it is the most seductive part.
The hope for every artist is that these emotions can be transmitted to the viewer, and like others I hope this happens.
I’m not crazy enough to demand that every one of my works please everyone, but I am crazy enough to hope that they can move everyone."
