Chronograph Slava Rattrapante (Split-Second) - 30 Seconds - USSR - 1980s

Up for auction a fascinating professional mechanical chronograph produced by the Second Watch Factory of Moscow (Slava) in the Soviet Union in the 1980s.

This model is the Rattrapante (Split-Second) version, much rarer and more complex than standard chronographs. Thanks to the two central hands and the third push-button, it allows you to record intermediate times or two events that start simultaneously but finish at different moments.

Origin: USSR ( inscription "Сделано в СССР" on the dial)
Movement: Manual winding mechanical, Slava 54950 high-precision caliber with 20 jewels.
Dial: Silvered with a "sunburst" finish, main 30-second scale (high precision to 1/10 of a second) and the 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock.
Case: Large diameter chrome-plated brass case (about 65 mm excluding crown).
Operation: The center push-button starts/stops, the right one resets, the left one controls the split (rattrapante) function.

Conditions:
The item presents in excellent aesthetic condition, with minimal signs of aging consistent with its age. The plexiglass crystal is clean and the case retains a nice shine. The movement is smooth and the chronograph functions are operative.
