Description from the seller
The work “mare blu” by the artist Anna Triebel presents itself as a large-format, abstract representation of the sea in its purest form. On a surface of 100 x 100 cm, a multilayered composition of various blue and gray tones unfolds, capturing the essence of water, depth, and movement, without using figurative elements.
The color fields flow into one another and create atmospheric depth reminiscent of looking over the open sea. Light, almost misty gray nuances lie over darker blue shades and convey the impression of light reflections on a moving water surface. Different layering and transitions produce subtle textures that recall wave motion – sometimes calm and steady, sometimes dynamic and powerful.
Through the abstracted depiction, no concrete coastline or horizon is portrayed. Instead, the element water is in focus exclusively. The composition thus appears both infinite and introspective, as if drawing the viewer into the depths of the sea.
Fine details within the color gradients create a vibrant surface effect that can be perceived differently depending on the lighting. The interplay of transparency, density, and movement gives the painting a calm yet energetically radiant presence.
“Mare blu” is especially suitable for spaces where a modern, clear, and at the same time meditative atmosphere should be created.
