Description from the seller
Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Based in Spain.
This holder of a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Burgos has received extensive academic training, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to Erasmus scholarships he conducted in Portugal and Belgium.
His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid and expressive color range, as well as a plastic compositional style, with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography.
The themes he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits…that’s all,” following the famous David Hockney quote. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large, expansive formats.
This artist has participated in numerous exhibitions at the national level, with a particular focus on the north of Spain. For over 20 years, he has presented his work in various towns, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is especially recognized. Additionally, he has earned painting awards at both national and international levels, which demonstrates his talent and recognition in the art world.
Recently he won the prize of the III Motril Art Contest. 2024.
In addition to his presence in exhibitions, his works are part of multiple private collections around the world. This shows that his work is valued not only by the general public but also by collectors and art lovers who appreciate his unique style and technical skill.
In short, this BA in Fine Arts and Audiovisual Communication has developed a distinguished artistic career, focused on oil painting, acrylic, digital art, paper and watercolor. His work is characterized by a rich color range, a plastic compositional style and unusual perspectives. With numerous national and international exhibitions and awards, his work is part of private collections around the world.
