Description from the seller
Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Resides in Spain.
This graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and Audiovisual Communication from the University of Burgos has undergone notable academic training, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to Erasmus scholarships he carried out in Portugal and Belgium.
His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art, and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings, and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid, and expressive color range, as well as a plastic compositional style, with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography.
The themes he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits…that’s all,” following the famous David Hockney phrase. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large, expansive formats.
This artist has participated in numerous nationwide exhibitions, with a special focus on northern Spain. For more than 20 years, he has presented his work in various locations, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria, and Salamanca, where his work is especially recognized. In addition, he has won painting awards both nationally and internationally, demonstrating his talent and recognition in the artistic field.
Recently he won the prize of the III Motril Art Contest. 2024.
In addition to his presence in exhibitions, his works are part of multiple private collections around the world. This shows that his work is not only appreciated by the general public but also by collectors and art lovers who value his unique style and technical skill.
In summary, this graduate in Fine Arts and Audiovisual Communication has built a distinguished artistic career, focused on oil painting, acrylic, digital art, paper, and watercolor. His work is characterized by a rich color range, a plastic compositional style, and unusual perspectives. With numerous national and international exhibitions and awards, his work is part of private collections around the world.
