Description from the seller

Beautiful early French chair.
French regional armchair, 17th century (Lorraine atmosphere)
Northeast France

The curved armrests are identical to the well-known French caquetoire.
Also the turned front legs are typical for this period.

This is a regional interpretation—and the open back strongly resembles Lorraine chairs.

Early mortise-and-tenon joints.
Very heavy rails - that certainly contributes to the stability and the fact that the chair has remained intact!
Nice patina.
Heavy oak.
