Joseph R. Salas Martinez Cuban artist and designer born in 1949; he studied typography and graphic design from 1972 at the San Alejandro Academy in Havana and participated in the design course of Professor German Sittauer.
In 1973, he began working as a graphic designer and participated in the III Juvénile Hall of Art; three years later, in 1976, he joined the Hermanos Saiz Association. In 1981, he founded the group “Temps libre” with four other designers. In 1992, he joined the Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC) and began working as an independent artist. In 1997, he joined the “Paysage du projet.”

1989: Mention in the 7th Book Art competition in the interior design category, Havana, Cuba.
1988: Mention in the second hall of Centro Habana, in the drawing category, Havana, Cuba.
1985: Mention at the National Exhibition of Graphic Propaganda XVI "July 26" in the housing category, Havana, Cuba.
1984: 1st Prize in the pontoon category and 3rd Prize in the science books category in the national book art competition, Havana, Cuba.
