In this work I develop an intimate exploration between the human figure and the still life, where both elements cease to be independent and become a single visual system. It is not a portrait nor a traditional still life, but a fusion where identity fragments and is reconstructed through color, geometry, and compositional rhythm.
The figure appears decomposed into chromatic planes that dialog directly with the objects, removing hierarchies. The bottle, the fruit, and everyday elements do not act as mere companions, but as symbolic extensions of the subject itself. Everything is connected by a structure that alludes to a contemporary rereading of Cubist language, where the black line acts as an organizing axis and the color palette balances tension and harmony.
The use of color is not descriptive but emotional. The contrasts between warm and cool tones create depth and movement, while transparencies and superpositions introduce a sense of suspended time. The composition is designed for the viewer to traverse the work in a fragmented manner, constantly reconstructing the image.
“Still Life with Figure” thus poses a reflection on perception and identity: the human and the material intertwine until they become indistinguishable, inviting the viewer to question what they are really observing—whether it is a face, an object, or the memory of both.
