Description from the seller
Stylish Pair of Book Supports – Globes in the Spirit of Art Deco
I invite you to bid on a pair of book supports that make an ideal complement to a classic study, library, or living room.
Bases made of solid wood with elegantly rounded profiles.
Globes mounted on brass axles, surrounded by rings with Italian nomenclature of climatic zones (Zona Torrida, Zona Fredda). Maps stylized as 17th-century engravings with visible wind roses and old Latin names.
The items bear natural signs of aging.
Wood: Visible minor dents, edge nicks, and surface lacquer scratches (primarily on the corners and bases).
Globes: On the paper surface there are occasional light stains, small printing losses, and the natural wrinkling typical for this technique at the map sheet joints.
