Description from the seller
Precious single-block holy-water font in ancient red marble, typical of Roman craftsmanship of the high Baroque period (Louis XIV era). The object stands out for the architectural rigor of the rectangular upper frame that encloses a finely carved oval basin.
The aging structure and the choice of stone reflect the solemn taste of the aristocratic commissions of Rome in the second half of the seventeenth century.
Dimensions: 8 x 19 x 11.5 cm
Good overall condition, noting defects due to the normal passage of time—era-specific flaws that attest to its originality.
Please study the photographs carefully as they are an integral part of the description.
Tracked shipping including secure packaging; any taxes and customs duties will be charged to the buyer.
