MUMA - Umbral iluminado (XL)

"Illuminated Threshold" is articulated as a symbolic architecture, a built space not meant to be physically occupied, but to be thought. The central arch, with almost classical resonances, functions as a threshold in the most essential sense: a place of passage, a transition between two states. Yet here that passage does not open toward a recognizable exterior, but toward an abstract interiority, marked by the circular void that perforates the form.

Geometry is blunt and silent. Each element—the arch, the block, the sphere—seems to occupy its place with an almost inevitable logic, as if responding to an internal order rather than to an arbitrary compositional will. The sphere, resting on the base, introduces a subtle tension: it does not cross the threshold, it remains stopped, as if the passage were always about to occur, but never consummated.

Color reinforces this conceptual dimension. The saturated tones—roses, oranges, violets—generate an atmosphere that fluctuates between playfulness and metaphysical. There is no drama, but there is a certain strangeness: the familiar (a door, an arch) becomes enigmatic when stripped of function.

Philosophically, the threshold speaks of the contemporary condition as a state of permanent transition. To inhabit the threshold is not to belong entirely to any place; it is to remain in that suspended moment where everything is ready to change, but has not yet changed.

About MUMA:

MUMA is an artistic duo formed by a Generalist 3D and a Designer and by an Art Historian, both trained at Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid. Their artistic practice focuses on the plastic arts, with particular interest in color, movement, and the dynamism of forms, as well as variations of the environment. Their work is conceived to integrate into space and establish a direct dialogue with routine and human experience, exploring a vital vision linked to the ideals of Impressionism, such as the relationship with nature, color, and changing environments. MUMA is connected to the professional world of digital and plastic arts in Madrid, with participation in competitions.

About preparation, packing, and shipping of the work:

The work is hand-signed by the artistic duo and comes with an authenticity certificate also signed by them. The canvas, rolled, is carefully packed in a sturdy cardboard tube and will be shipped within three business days after purchase confirmation. The estimated delivery time will depend on the destination and the chosen shipping company."
