Description from the seller
On offer is a stunning, antique, large Minton ‘Blue Delft’ porcelain platter from 1855. The piece has an elongated geometric form, with two built-in handles on the short ends, and an overall floral motif with a central urn filled with various blossoms. The pattern is cobalt blue on a white background — consistent with Delftware inspiration — and has hand-painted gold gilt around the rim and on the handles. On the underside of the platter is the Diamond Lozenge Pottery registration mark, the year of production 1855, along with the impressed Minton back stamp. The platter’s distinctive elongated diamond shape is a rare Minton find. As such, it is a highly sought after and collectible piece.
CONDITION: The platter is in excellent condition for its age. There are small signs of wear to the gold trim, otherwise it is perfect. The cobalt blue on white pattern looks brand new.
MEASUREMENTS: The dimensions of the piece are: 52.5 cm long, 29 cm deep, and 2 cm high.
TRANSPORT: The platter will be wrapped and packaged with utmost care, and shipped with a track and trace code.
