Antique silver-decorated pocket watch from the late 19th century with a manual-winding movement, 40 mm case, in good condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Elegant antique silver-encrusted pocket watch – late 19th century, in working order
Splendid pocket watch from the late 19th / early 20th century, characterized by a refined case richly engraved with floral motifs and grapevine tendrils, typical of European production of the era.
The case features high-quality workmanship (I’m not certain if it is silver since there are no hallmarks) with deep, detailed engravings over the entire exterior surface, while the interior is finely gold-plated, evidencing careful, high-level craftsmanship.
The white enamel dial, with black Roman numerals and outer minute track, is embellished with a delicate multicolored floral painting at the center, finely executed, which lends elegance and uniqueness to the piece.
The pierced Louis XV style hands (or “pear-shaped” / decorative), slender and harmonious, add further refinement and are perfectly in keeping with the period’s aesthetics.
There is also a small seconds counter at 6 o’clock. The dial shows slight signs of age (micro hairlines), consistent with its age and an indicator of authenticity.
The manual-wind mechanical movement, probably Swiss-made, features a lever escapement and a precision regulator. The watch is in perfect working order.
Case diameter: about 40 mm (excluding crown), a substantial and highly appreciated measure by collectors.
Very good overall condition, with normal signs of use and aging, no invasive restorations.
An enchanting and decorative object, ideal for collectors as well as a statement piece of furniture or a fine gift.
