This work in the format 80 × 80 × 4.5 cm is created on a wide, high-quality canvas and moves between painting and sculpture.
In the light, the surface unfolds a clear presence. Depending on the light incidence and viewing angle, the texture and depth change, individual layers come to the fore more strongly. The work appears spatial and physical – perception arises when walking, standing, and lingering.
Frequency COBALT BLUE — Sculpture of Light, Structure & Presence
Frequency COBALT BLUE is inspired by sound and frequency. From my work as a pianist, I transpose rhythm, pause, and repetition into a visual structure. The composition follows a reduced order. Repetitions create tensions comparable to held tones, while subtle color shifts mark transitions.
Artwork details:
Title: Frequency COBALT BLUE
Size: 80 × 80 cm × 4.5 cm
Techniques & materials: Acrylic paint and Heavy-Gel texture paste on canvas, layered with various spatulas. The pigments form elevations and overlays with calm, pulsating tension.
Only top-quality materials are used: acrylic paints from Amsterdam Expert, texture pastes from Liquitex – all locally produced in Austria.
Frame: Wide carrying frame made of solid natural wood (included in the price).
(Black decorative frame not included)
Images: The pictures were taken under professional studio lighting. Light is essential for the color play of the works. The artist recommends placement under direct or indirect light to fully bring out the color interplay and make the pieces appear lively.
To foster a better understanding of the works and the interaction of light, I encourage buyers to watch the videos of the different works on Instagram at @sarah.schwarzl.art.
