Description from the seller
MiLo – “Color Field No. 155”
A work by Amsterdam-based artist MiLo (1976).
In Color Field No. 155, two contrasting planes—deep black and muted off-white—are held in a quiet yet tense balance. The composition is reduced to its essentials, where subtle variations in tone, texture and edge create depth within apparent simplicity.
The surface reveals traces of movement and layering, giving the work a tactile presence that shifts with light and distance. The division between the fields feels both precise and organic, suggesting a boundary that is felt rather than defined.
This painting reflects MiLo’s exploration of reduction, where minimal elements carry maximum weight.
The artwork will be carefully rolled and securely shipped in a sturdy cardboard box or protective shipping tube.
