Description from the seller
Elegant decorative amphora in polychrome ceramic with a silvered metal mount, crafted according to a taste typical of European artistic production between the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century.
The body of the amphora features a refined hand-painted decoration depicting a suggestive lakeside or seascape with a small sailing boat, surrounded by a delicate raised floral motif with white daisies. On the left side of the scene appears a building with a tile roof that overlooks the water, creating a romantic and luminous composition, characterized by blue, green and golden tones.
The surface of the ceramic is enriched by a rich relief work with a glazed effect and ornamental inserts that frame the central scene. The neck and upper part are finished with a finely molded silvered metal mount, which continues into the sinuous handle decorated with floral motifs and volutes.
The foot is also in silvered metal, with a circular base adorned with a vegetal relief frieze that gives stability and dynamism to the shape of the object. The pouring spout and the handle recall the classic shapes of decorative carafes in the Art Nouveau and early 20th-century taste.
This is an object of great decorative impact, ideal as an interior decor element on a console, a bookshelf or a sideboard, capable of evoking romantic and period atmospheres. The combination between polychrome artistic ceramic and silvered metal mounts makes this piece particularly elegant and refined.
Overall condition good, with normal signs of time compatible with the age of the object.
Height: 32 cm.
Proper packaging and trackable shipping across Europe.
