Description from the seller
Oil and acrylic on canvas. A unique, hand-made work.
Canvas sold without a frame, carefully rolled and protected for shipment.
Format: 60 x 60 cm (intended for mounting on a frame).
Description of the work:
This captivating piece by the artist LeYack, created with oil on canvas, is a magistral exploration of architecturally geometric forms confronted with natural vastness. The composition is rigorously constructed: a raised pool block in a deep ochre yellow dominates the left foreground, while a massive textured concrete wall, almost monolithic, closes the space on the right. The horizon line, perfectly horizontal, separates the intense blue of the ocean from an azure sky of dazzling clarity.
Dispersed with surgical precision, the human figures provide scale and a sense of silent isolation. A small group of bathers lounges in water a deep greenish-iron hue, while other figures stand on the concrete promontory, motionless as sculptures, observing the infinite. The harsh midday light strikes the surfaces, accentuating textures and forms. It is a work that evokes absolute calm, contemplation, and a utopian form of architecture on the edge of the world, in the tradition of contemporary geometric realism, with a notable affinity for Hockney’s deserted urban landscapes and Hopper’s solitude.
The style of the artist Le Yack is a bold blend of pop art, street art, and classical and modern painting. He uses his graphic tablet to create unique visual universes, merging various digital resources and exploring a range of artistic techniques (Photoshop software and drawing on Procreate and different royalty-free image resources and AI).
Le Yack is a French emerging pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) of Orléans. He is an art director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited in a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, United States.
Inspired by classical and modern painting, Le Yack brings a contemporary eye to his creations by incorporating iconic elements of pop and urban culture. His works are characterized by vivid colors, dynamic shapes, and expressive compositions.
The artist also explores different forms of artistic production. Some of his works are reproduced in series on canvas panels, creating limited editions accessible to a broader audience. Other works are created as unique oil paintings on canvas, adding an exclusive and authentic dimension to his collection.
Le Yack’s style reflects a fusion between traditional art and the limitless possibilities offered by digital technology. His innovative approach and adept use of digital resources allow him to create original works that captivate the eye and invite reflection.
