Description from the seller
Gateleg table in Jacobite style – England, 20th Century
Elegant handcrafted English-made drop-leaf table, inspired by 17th-century designs. The oval top is supported by a refined six-leg framework with bobbin turning. Thanks to the gate-leg system, the side leaves open easily, transforming the piece from a slim console into a dining table for 4-6 people. Made of solid wood (oak/walnut) with a warm original dark patina.
Era: About 1920-1950 (Revival Style).
Origin: England / United Kingdom.
Material: Solid wood with wax/ shellac finish.
Style: Jacobite / William and Mary.
Overall condition: Good vintage condition, structurally solid.
Top: Shows surface scratches and light rings due to use and age (consistent with an antique piece).
Wood: Presence of old non-active wormholes on the base (signs of time that do not compromise stability).
Mechanics: The hinges and the movable legs are in perfect working order.
