In this work I approach identity as a fragmented construction, where the unity of the face dissolves to give way to a multiplicity of planes, looks, and internal tensions. The image is not presented as a faithful reflection, but as a rupture, a reconfiguration of what is visible and what is emotional.

The composition is articulated through a vertical division that functions as a symbolic and structural axis. On both sides, the face unfolds into geometric shapes that do not seek continuity, but contrast and the coexistence of different realities within the same subject.

The work sits within a contemporary reinterpretation of the Cubist language. The fragmentation of the plane, the simultaneity of perspectives, and the decomposition of the figure into autonomous elements directly reference the principles of Cubism, but from a current sensitivity, more expressive and chromatically intense.

Color acts as an engine of tension and construction. Saturated palettes, abrupt contrasts, and unexpected transitions do not describe reality; they reinvent it, generating a dynamic visual experience that compels the viewer to reconstruct the image.

“Broken Reflection” poses a meditation on the duality of being. There is not a single face, but multiple versions coexisting in an unstable balance. It is in that fracture that true identity emerges: not as unity, but as the sum of fragments.
