Jen Patey @ Calderado Studios presents Glacial Fire, a 100 cm by 100 cm original abstract acrylic painting signed on the reverse, created in 2026, in excellent condition, on professional stretched canvas from the United Kingdom, sold directly from the artist with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
Description from the seller
Glacial Fire is a large-scale exploration of elemental transition. Jenny has been creating art for a number of decades, and this is the first opportunity to invest in her first time selling work
Glacial Fire captures the fleeting moment when the frozen, silent structures of the north meet a sudden, subterranean surge of heat. The composition is split by a jagged, heavily textured "fault line"—a physical ridge of paint that separates the calm, atmospheric teals of the upper canvas from the chaotic, electric pulses of violet and neon pink below.
Artist’s Vision
In creating this 1-metre square statement piece, I wanted to play with the concept of "temperature" in art. The top half utilizes smooth, sweeping gradients to mimic the movement of an arctic sky or deep glacial ice. In contrast, the bottom half is raw and vertical, with layered drips and palette-knife strikes that suggest a volcanic energy breaking through the frost.
Details & Quality
• Scale: A commanding 100cm x 100cm (39.4" x 39.4") on professional-grade stretched canvas. Please note this is an unframed canvas (framed canvas shown in pictures for illustrative purposes)
• Depth: 4cm deep-edge profile, allowing the painting to stand out boldly from the wall.
• Texture: Significant impasto work in the center creates a 3D effect that catches the light differently throughout the day.
• Medium: Professional heavy-body acrylics, finished. This item will be shipped as shown in stretched canvas form
• Authentication: Signed on the reverse and shipped with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
Placement Tip
Because of the horizontal "divide" in the center, this piece works exceptionally well over a sideboard or a low-profile sofa. It creates a sense of wide-screen cinematic depth in a modern living space.
