Description from the seller
A very beautiful and rare drawing (sketch) by the well-known French artist André Cottavoz.
Subject: The sketch shows a female figure in an artistic pose.
Artist: André Cottavoz (1922-2012)
Technique: Charcoal sketch/pencil on paper
Original
signed bottom right and dated (19)73
framed behind glass, with a high-quality mat
Overall dimensions: approx. 85 x 70 cm
Artwork dimensions: approx. 65 x 50 cm
*André Cottavoz was born in 1922 in Saint-Marcellin, Isère, France. After completing his studies, he participated in several exhibitions starting in 1945. In 1953 he was awarded the Fénéon Prize. In his paper works (drawings, prints, etc.), the effect of light is in the foreground. He often used the white surface of the paper as an active element to create the characteristic “inner brightness” for him.
His works of art, especially his large-format drawings, are often highly sought after.
From my private collection in Germany
The painting and its frame are in good condition with signs of age.
Shipping options:
- Shipping within Europe including insurance and tracking number with secure, suitable packaging
- Or pickup
(Note: Due to the large overall dimensions, the package will only be shipped within Europe. Shipping costs outside Europe can be over €300 and will be charged separately. Therefore the package will not be shipped outside Europe)
