Description from the seller
MiLo – “Residual Surface”
A work by Amsterdam-based artist MiLo (1976).
In Residual Surface, layers of off-white paint partially veil a warmer, brown-toned ground beneath. The composition carries a sense of time and transformation, where the surface appears worn, disturbed and subtly reworked.
Abrasions, soft interruptions and a faint horizontal trace introduce structure without defining it. Toward the lower edge, the paint becomes more open, allowing the underlying layer to emerge and giving the work a raw, tactile presence.
The painting exists between concealment and exposure, where what remains is as important as what has been covered.
The artwork will be carefully rolled and securely shipped in a sturdy cardboard box or protective shipping tube.

About the Artist
MiLo (1976) is an Amsterdam-based contemporary artist with a background in photography and visual arts. Over the years, he has developed a distinctive abstract style characterized by layered surfaces, gestural marks and a strong sense of rhythm and structure.
His work has been collected internationally, with original paintings sold across Europe, the United States and Asia. With over 800 works placed in private collections, MiLo has built a consistent and recognizable body of work.
Influenced by action painting and urban textures, his process combines intuitive movement with more controlled interventions. This results in compositions that often evoke fragments of architecture, coded systems and eroded surfaces.
