Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

A multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on the gaze, presence and perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series dedicated to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.

New Series – Skylines

In this series, David Law explores streamlined urban horizons where architectural lines and reflections dialogue with vast, nuanced skies. Each composition plays on the balance between presence and silence, occasionally punctuated by a minimal element, a bird or a boat, suggesting scale and movement. This work is part of a visual research nourished by the use of contemporary graphic tools, serving an aesthetics that is both contemplative and structured.

Edition & Manufacturing

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in back mount. Printed on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability and a modern, contemporary look – Prints available in 40x40 / 60x60 – on request

Profile

Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops a writer-artist and musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. Lead singer and guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
