Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary imagery

As a multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Prompted next by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, prompting us to question our relationship to illusion and projection.

New series – Skylines

In this series, David Law explores pared-down urban horizons where architectural lines and reflections dialogue with vast, nuanced skies. Each composition plays on the balance between presence and silence, sometimes punctuated by a minimal element, a bird or a boat, which suggests scale and movement. This work is part of a visual search nourished by the use of contemporary graphic tools, serving an aesthetic that is both contemplative and structured.

Edition & Fabrication

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist's proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with a soft anti-UV and anti-humidity lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability and a modern, contemporary look – Prints available in 40x40 / 60x60 – on request

Parcours

Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual activity, he develops authorial and musician work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photography book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
