Photographer-Artist – Creator of Contemporary Images

Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Subsequently intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inert models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.

New Series – Skylines

In this series, David Law explores streamlined urban horizons where architectural lines and reflections dialogue with vast and nuanced skies. Each composition plays on the balance between presence and silence, sometimes punctuated by a minimal element, a bird or a boat, which suggests scale and movement. This work sits within a visual exploration nourished by the use of contemporary graphic tools, serving an aesthetic that is both contemplative and structured.

Edition & Production

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered pieces + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated back mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability and a modern, contemporary look – Prints available in 40x40 / 60x60 – available on request

Background

Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual activity, he develops an authorial and musician career including three novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photography book and five self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
