Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in the urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and overlays. This exploration around gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Subsequently captivated by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.

New Series – Skylines

In this series, David Law explores uncluttered urban horizons where architectural lines and reflections dialogue with vast, nuanced skies. Each composition plays on the balance between presence and silence, sometimes punctuated by a minimal element, a bird or a boat, suggesting scale and movement. This work fits into a visual research nourished by the use of contemporary graphic tools, serving an aesthetic that is both contemplative and structured.

Edition & Manufacture

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with UV- and humidity-resistant soft laminate, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary look – Prints available in 40x40 / 60x60 – on request

Biography

Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual activity, he develops a writer/artist and musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he is currently performing with the band FRENZY.
