“The things left unsaid” says Guzzoni, referring to his cards. They don’t “say” only words, but also shapes, bodies and actions: it is just another language. The collection of his works depicting the sheets of paper represents a kind of alphabet, an imaginary ABC, and for this they are immortalized without being subject to gravity, but as if suspended to present themselves to the viewer.

Guzzoni’s sheets of paper come into relation with the viewer and are not the account of someone else written with ink.

They, the sheets of paper, express themselves as forms even without containing words.

They present themselves before us and are distinguished by their individuality.

They do not let anyone slip away without first stimulating their imagination.”
