Description from the seller

Biography
Rob van Oosten (1963) began painting in his teenage years. By, among other things, copying the 'old masters', he then discovered what oil paint could do. However, his career did not head toward the artist’s path; he became a teacher. In addition, he kept painting. For many years these were still lifes with flowers, vegetables and fruit, but he noticed that he could not express his creativity sufficiently here. That changed when he started adding sand to his work and began using tools such as putty knives and steel brushes. His work became rougher and moved increasingly toward abstraction. Rob finds his inspiration in life. It can be beautiful, but it also has many rough sides.
The works of Rob van Oosten have now found their way into private collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France and Greece.
Recent sales exhibitions were at the ‘Tree Museum’ in Doorn and at ‘Castle Amerongen’.
