Roberto was born in Bergamo in 1954, the same area where he lives and works. He started painting as a child, developing a passion for this form of visual art. After scientific high school he graduated in Medicine and, through continual experimentation, he directed his Art toward Fluid Art, a self-taught path. His distinctive technique allows him to achieve exceptional chromatic effects, giving brightness and life to his paintings. The canvas is covered with several layers of vivid colours that create an infinite number of shades.
Fluid painting is an abstract art form that uses acrylic colors with a liquid consistency. It teaches you how to let go of a precise result, how to follow the flow and find your imagination in what comes out of mixing colors.
It is a strong metaphor for life and acts as a mirror of our beliefs.
In recent years Roberto has approached another style, no longer made only of colors, but also of shapes and lines... precisely of Inter-connections.
This series reminds us how everything is related in our life and nothing is left to chance. His works begin to take on a more decisive and fixed trait that holds the viewer's gaze.
Within this reality, Roberto Prandi conceived a pictorial art of interconnectivity by designing a mastodontic painting that develops through the union of many small canvases: “The largest acrylic painting in the world”.
In each single painting there are multiple forms that have a symbolic meaning, circular particles, metaphors of souls (from the Greek word “ἀνεμος” breath, soul) from which one or more arms originate to connect with other circles. They connect together forming a single large work, which branches out and extends indefinitely. The collector who owns a canvas thus becomes the owner of a particle of the “The largest acrylic painting in the world” and, with it, connects to all the other collectors, creating a real network. A network that can extend anywhere—Europe, Asia, America, Africa and Australia—transforming collectors into members of a special and unique large family of art lovers.
