MiLo – “Flyer”

In Flyer, a dynamic, directional form emerges from a layered surface of subtle markings, lines and scattered pigment. The central structure suggests movement and trajectory, evoking associations with flight, ascent or a shifting object in motion.

Fine scratch lines, ballpoint pen gestures and fluid paint applications intersect with carefully placed splashes and dots, creating a rich and intricate surface. Subtle tones, including hints of metallic pink, interact with black and white contrasts, adding depth and variation that reveal themselves over time.

The composition balances structure and spontaneity, where controlled elements meet intuitive gestures. Depending on orientation, the form shifts in meaning—appearing as rising, drifting or moving laterally—offering multiple interpretations.

The artwork can be displayed in both vertical and horizontal orientation, allowing the viewer to engage with its changing direction and energy.

The artwork will be carefully rolled and securely shipped in a sturdy cardboard box or protective shipping tube.

About the Artist

MiLo (1976) is an Amsterdam-based contemporary artist with a background in photography and visual arts. Over the years, he has developed a distinctive abstract style characterized by layered surfaces, gestural marks and a strong sense of rhythm and structure.

His work has been collected internationally, with original paintings sold across Europe, the United States and Asia. With over 800 works placed in private collections, MiLo has built a consistent and recognizable body of work.

Influenced by action painting and urban textures, his process combines intuitive movement with more controlled interventions. This results in compositions that often evoke fragments of architecture, coded systems and eroded surfaces.
