Description from the seller
Argentor Bottle Stand in Silvered Metal - Rose Decor - Vermeil Interior - Early 1900s
Elegant and refined antique bottle stand (or bottle holder), made by the prestigious Argentor manufactory (Vienna), known for the high quality of its silvered metal objects during the Secession and Art Nouveau period.
The central body is characterized by a splendid pierced band with embossed rose decor, which gives lightness and a classic floral touch to the piece.
Exterior in silvered metal with a satin and glossy finish; the interior is adorned with vermeil gilding, which, in addition to aesthetic value, protects the metal from the acidity of possible wine residues.
Wide plinth base that guarantees maximum stability for the bottle.
Condition: Excellent, perfect silvering, only small stains on the inner Vermeil base.
Era: Early 20th century.
"The base bears the original Argentor punch with the three triangles and the AS IG initials, certifying the production of the prestigious Argentor-Werke of Vienna".
The company was a supplier to the Austro-Hungarian Imperial Court.
