PAIR OF LOUIS XV STYLE CHENETS – 19th CENTURY 

A beautiful pair of andirons (or landiers) in chased and gilt bronze (or heavy-gauge brass) in Rocaille style.
The design, richly animated, features a base adorned with floral rosettes and large stylized acanthus leaves in relief. The upper part is crowned by a baluster-turned shaft ending with a twisted spool-shaped finial.
The whole rests on its original forged-iron feet with curled ends, allowing the logs to be held.

• Materials: Bronze/Brass and iron.
• Condition: Good overall. Age-related patina with traces of natural verdigris in the hollows (highlighting the chasing). Feet sound and solid.

Belle paire de chenets (ou landiers) en bronze ciselé et doré (ou laiton de forte section) de style Rocaille.
Le décor, richement mouvementé, présente une base ornée de rosaces fleuries et de larges feuilles d'acanthe stylisées en relief. La partie supérieure est sommée d'un fût à balustre godronné se terminant par un amortissement en toupie torsadée.
L'ensemble repose sur ses fers d'origine en fer forgé à extremité recourbée, permettant le maintien des bûches.

• Matériaux : Bronze/Laiton et fer.
• État de conservation : Bel état de maison. Patine d'usage ancienne avec traces de vert-de-gris naturel dans les creux (soulignant la ciselure). Fers sains et solides.
