Description from the seller
GENERAL:
We are offering a beautiful Mercedes-Benz 380SL from 1981. This example belongs to the beloved R107 generation and is in an exceptionally well-maintained condition. The car has been in the Netherlands since 1993 and has had only one owner since then, contributing to a transparent history and careful use.
What immediately stands out is the elegant and scarce color combination “English Red,” paired with a beige leather interior. This combination gives the car a timeless, stylish look that is rarely seen.
BODYWORK & PAINT:
The body is in very neat condition. In the past, the car was fully stripped for cosmetic reasons and professionally repainted. This has resulted in a sleek and well-maintained paint finish with fine, thin panels and correct gaps.
The overall finish is of a high standard and perfectly suits the character of the car. The chrome trim and wheels are also in beautiful condition and reinforce the luxury appearance of this classic.
TECHNICAL:
Technically, this Mercedes-Benz is very well maintained. The 3.8-liter V8 engine delivers 215 hp at 5,500 rpm and 300 Nm at 4,000 rpm and is known for its smooth and reliable performance. The engine runs silky-smooth and is paired with an automatic four-speed transmission that shifts comfortably and fluidly.
In recent years, the car has been maintained with great care, and several parts have been proactively replaced to keep the technical condition at a high level. In combination with the relatively low mileage, this provides a particularly pleasant driving experience.
INTERIOR:
The interior is fully original and in very nice condition. The beige leather and carpets have been well preserved and fit perfectly with the car’s elegant exterior appearance.
The car is equipped with several comfortable features such as climate control, cruise control, a center armrest, tinted glass, and an original Becker radio. In addition, this 380SL features a high-quality Sonneland convertible top. It functions properly but could be cosmetically renewed for a perfect final result.
DOCUMENTS:
The documentation for this car is exceptionally complete and carefully preserved. The original owner’s manual and the glove compartment book are present, as well as an extensive maintenance history.
All invoices from the year 2000 to the present have been kept. This documentation not only supports the mileage but also confirms the consistent and meticulous maintenance over the years.
PICK-UP:
The car can be viewed and picked up in Bruinisse, Netherlands.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This Mercedes-Benz 380SL is a particularly beautiful and well-documented example that has been cared for over many years. The combination of the rare color, the original condition, the extensive history, and the good technical condition make this a highly attractive classic.

Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
