Description from the seller

9-piece dessert set by J. Lavit, Limoges porcelain with kiln-fired cobalt blue (blue of the kiln) and fine gold relief gilding – 20th century

Description
9-piece dessert service in Limoges porcelain (14.5 cm), bearing the signature of the renowned art decorator J. Lavit. This set is a testament to the high-end craftsmanship of French porcelain from the 1950s-1970s.

Design & Decoration: Each plate features remarkable depth of color thanks to true kiln-fired blue (cobalt blue fired at very high temperature), offering a striking contrast with the richness of the ornaments. The border is fully covered with a design of scrolling acanthus, volutes and floral motifs in relief with fine gold gilding, a complex artisan technique that gives a sculptural dimension to the piece.

Central Medallions: The center of each plate is adorned with a bouquet of wildflowers and roses in delicate tones. Faithful to the tradition of prestige services, the bouquets vary across 8 of the 9 plates, underscoring the unique character of each pattern.
The bouquets on 2 plates are similar (see the last 2 photos).

Marks: Back stamp reading "Porcelaine d'Art J. Lavit Limoges - France".

Condition
• Condition: The porcelain is intact and glossy, with no cracks or chips.
• Gilding: Slightly worn in places on some rims.
