MEDSAN signs Anatomica-Neko – Statue Edition, a 3D-printed sculpture (PLA) in white and red, edition limited, dated 2026, measuring 18 cm wide by 25 cm high by 14 cm deep, produced by Atelier Joconde in France.
Description from the seller
Anatomica-Neko – Statue Edition is a striking sculpture signed Medsan, blending pop iconography with anatomical imagery to deliver a profound message about the duality of existence. The work revisits Maneki-neko, the famous Japanese lucky cat, by revealing an underlying truth.
The contrast is striking between the smooth, familiar appearance of one half of the cat's head and the surgical precision of the other half, peeled back to expose the detailed skull, the brain, and the intricate anatomical eye. This visual duality, entirely rendered in immaculate matte white, immediately draws the eye to the complexity of life and the fragility of luck.
At the base, where the fortune cat traditionally holds a coin (koban) to attract wealth, Medsan has placed a textured medallion bearing a complete and inert fish skeleton. This strong symbol of death and impermanence seals the pact between the quest for fortune and the inevitability of fate. The work suggests that even the most radiant luck has a downside, and that fortune does not stop the cycle of life.
Made in 3D printing (PLA), this sculpture is a feat. Dated 2026 under the plinth, the piece sits within the artist's contemplative and philosophical vision.
A work that is at once provocative and elegant, perfect for bringing a touch of meaning and contemporary aesthetics to an interior.

About the Atelier: Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true site of artistic production, the studio operates both in collaborative creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive pursuit, blending abstract art, naïve art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a unique identity for each artist.
