AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

“Mercury” (2026)
Oil and pastels on canvas
180 x 130 cm
Against a soft, luminous ground that sits between pink and pale red, a human form emerges in loose black line - gestural, rapid, the body coiling inward on itself, head bowed toward the torso in a posture of contraction or self-return. The lines do not close into a solid form but suggest one, the figure built from accumulating marks that cross and contradict each other while maintaining a coherent presence at their center. VANTA interrupts the linearity with areas of deep red and sharp blue that land against the pale ground with full intensity - color operating independently of the drawn form, anchoring and destabilizing it simultaneously.
The blue falls in loose blocks and streaks around the figure’s shoulders and flanks, the deep red cutting through the torso in long directional marks that echo the body’s curve without following it precisely. Represented by S-Gallery and available on Catawiki. The pale ground remains active throughout, neither fully covered nor treated as mere background - the pink-red warmth of it pressing through wherever line and color thin out, giving the entire surface a quality of light coming from within.
The figure holds its compressed posture at the center of all this movement - line, color, and ground in restless negotiation around a form that remains, despite everything, intact.
Shipping:
The work is delivered without a frame (professional packaging, rolled in a tube). it can easily be restretched by a professional or on your own, this is also cheaper then the otherwise increased cost of shipping when sending paintings of this size stretched
The measurements indicated are those of the painting stretched and mounted on a frame (The actual
measurements of the canvas are larger to allow it to be mounted on a frame 2-4cm thick.
