Oil on panel by Sandra Chinelate, titled Carolina, 2024, 50 × 48 cm, multicolour contemporary nude, original edition, with a back frame to prevent warping, signed lower right, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Oil painting on panel, dimensions 50 x 48 cm, thickness 2.8 cm, with a back frame to prevent warping of the panel, signed at the bottom right, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
The title of the work is a homage to the name of a song by the artist’s favorite singer-songwriter.
The woman, seated and reclining upon herself in multicolored, vibrant tones, lends a touch of delicacy while also delivering a strong visual impact to the space that houses her.
It pairs perfectly with any environment: it brings color to clean, modern, monochromatic spaces, and it also engages with multicolored settings or those adorned with many elements of high visual impact.
Sandra Chinelate works on the physical and existential inquiry pursued with the tools of figurative painting.
A humanities graduate, and in her youth a self-taught artist, she moves to Italy and, influenced by her multifaceted sociolinguistic perspective, conducts her painting research with the aim of promoting an encounter among different social subjects, where different ages, skin colors, passions and human uncertainties are contemplated from a strong desire on the part of the artist to highlight their facets, safeguarding her characters from any prejudice.
Since 2005 she has exhibited in solo and group shows. She works with oil and mixed media on canvas and panel.
