Meteorite fluorite specimen from Morocco, with fluorescent cubical crystals on a matrix, weighing 1.33 kg and measuring 15 × 8.5 × 8 cm.
Description from the seller
Stunning specimen composed of a rich aggregation of cubic fluorite crystals, well developed and compactly arranged on a matrix.
This specimen shows a very evident color variation depending on the type of illumination, a characteristic that has also been documented in the photos of the lot.
In photo (1), taken in shade with diffused natural light, the fluorite appears with cooler tones.
In photo (2), taken in full sun, the color changes distinctly and becomes warmer, more intense and saturated.
This difference is not due to artificial alteration, but to the way the sample reacts to light, highlighting different nuances of its internal structure.
From a mineralogical and aesthetic point of view, the specimen is particularly interesting because it seems to show an initial growth of green fluorite, visible mainly in the lower part and in the matrix, followed by a second growth of crystals with more yellowish tones. This overlay creates a very lively ensemble, with color depth and a richer reading of the piece.
The crystals exhibit variable transparency, with glossy surfaces and faint internal veiling that contribute to the overall play of light.
FLUORESCENCE: the specimen reacts to UV light with predominantly blue fluorescence. The reaction appears more pronounced in the primary green area, while in the yellow area it is milder and in some spots shows slight shades between blue, pink, and lilac.
An interesting specimen not only for the classic cubic growth of fluorite, but also for its color evolution and for its different behavior under various lighting conditions.
