Rafa López (Spain) presents an original 25×25 cm contemporary mixed-media painting Homer Pixonaje, executed in acrylic and marker on canvas, depicting popular culture in a vibrant pop-surrealist style, signed with painted edges, delivered with stretcher and including a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
In "Homer Pixonaje", Rafa López explores the intersection between contemporary popular culture and figurative abstraction. Through this portrait of a cartoon icon, the artist reinterprets the everyday under a vibrant and chaotic prism, transforming a familiar image into a visual experience laden with textures and energy.
Analysis of the work:
The piece is an excellent example of Pop Surrealism, where Homer’s central figure breaks down and fuses with an environment full of dynamism. The work does not seek faithful representation, but an emotional and expressive capture of the character, surrounded by a visual language that recalls graffiti and underground comics.
Technically, the work stands out for its material complexity in an intimate 25x25 cm format. Rafa López uses mixed media that combines acrylic paint and marker to define the lines of force and gestural details. The color contrasts and the layering of coats create a depth that invites the viewer to discover new nuances with each look, maintaining the liveliness characteristic of his more recent production.
Logistics and shipping:
The work is delivered on a stretcher.
It is wrapped with bubble wrap and cardboard box.
The canvas includes additional painted margins that allow the image to continue along the sides of the stretcher after mounting, ensuring an impeccable aesthetic presentation.
Signed by hand on the bottom left edge and on the back. Includes the artist’s certificate of authenticity.
