Description from the seller
Hi, this is my 1968 Pioneer SA-400, recently rebuilt completely (ELNA capacitors). Today, after extensive testing, I’m putting it up for sale, hoping the buyer knows how to use a tube-integrated amplifier and owns a pair of high-efficiency speakers... and it will be an exciting experience! Aesthetically, considering its 58 years, I can say it's beautiful but not like new... electronically, however, it's perfect. The tubes are Toshiba, and I replaced them myself when I replaced the capacitors. I've attached two technical specifications and a few notes found on the internet below.
“The Pioneer SA-400 stereo amplifier is known for its compact design... it features inputs for phono and auxiliary sources, and uses vacuum tubes for amplification. Key details found: Model: SA-400 (Stereo Amplifier) - Type: Vacuum tube integrated amplifier. It is known for its compact design and push-pull configuration. Specifications: Output power: 11 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo) - Frequency response: 30Hz to 20kHz (±1dB) - Total harmonic distortion (THD): 1% at rated power; less than 0.4% at 1W - Damping factor: 13 - Signal-to-noise ratio: 60dB (MM), 80dB (line) - Input sensitivity: 2.3mV (MM), 38mV (ceramic), 150mV (line) - Load impedance of the Speakers: 8Ω to 16Ω - Tube Configuration: The unit uses a total of seven tubes to drive the various amplification stages: Output stages: 4 x 6BM8 (ECL82) in push-pull configuration - Input and Phono stages: 3 x 12AX7 (ECC83) - Dimensions: 352 x 260 x 135 mm - Weight: 7 kg.
