Omaggio a Kobe Bryant

In Mamba Mentality, the Italian artist Fotello captures the most visceral and iconic essence of Kobe Bryant, translating his determination into a visually striking composition. The figure emerges from a dark, sparse background, illuminated by a cool light that sculpts its volumes and amplifies its expressiveness: the face, tilted upward in a liberating yell, becomes the emotional focal point of the piece.

The graphic style sits in a hybrid territory between street art and high-definition digital painting. Splashes, stratifications, and gestural marks cross the athlete’s body, evoking urban walls worn by time and creative energy. These elements, seemingly chaotic, are orchestrated with precision, creating a balance between instinct and control—the same balance that defined Bryant’s game.

fotello (Carrara, 1981) is a contemporary artist who works between painting and digital art.
Growing up in a family context strongly linked to artistic tradition – his grandmother was the artistic director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara – he developed from an early age a deep sensitivity to the visual arts.

After pursuing studies in the artistic field, since 2001 he has embarked on a personal research that combines painting techniques and digital tools, establishing himself as an author recognizable for his style and the ability to fuse tradition and innovation. His digital works, signed under the pseudonym fotello, explore the boundaries between imagination and technology, always keeping the human and creative element at the center.

Parallel to this, he pursues modern painting, with particular attention to abstraction, understood as a language capable of evoking emotions and meanings not immediately decipherable.

His works, both painterly and digital, are part of private collections in Italy and in several European countries.
