Wall sconce (2) - Wood

Up for auction, an extraordinary and rare pair of large wooden wall lamps with gold leaf, each with 6 light points – 51 x 33 cm, height. These torchiere-style wall lamps are made of antique wood and were displayed at the entrance of a castle. They have a striking visual impact and are ready to adorn richly finished walls. The gilding is in excellent condition, as is the electrical installation. One accommodates large bulbs, the other smaller ones, but restoration is very easy. The wood shows no sign of woodworm, only a beautiful patina and signs of age. This important pair of appliques is rare to find.
