Description from the seller
Eberhard & Co. Chronometer – Pocket watch Full Hunter in silver – ca. 1905–1915
Elegant Swiss pocket watch “Chronomètre” produced by the historic house Eberhard & Co. in La Chaux-de-Fonds, one of the main centers of Swiss watchmaking.
This refined example dates from the early years of the 20th century and is characterized by a full hunter case in 0.925 sterling silver with guilloché work on the case back and a central cartouche shield intended for custom engravings.
The white enamel dial presents elegant stylized Arabic numerals, railway minute track, and small seconds at the 6 o’clock position, in addition to the inscription “Chronomètre – Eberhard & Co.”, historically used for movements regulated with particular attention to precision.
Inside lies a manually wound Swiss mechanical movement signed Eberhard, equipped with 16 jewels and 4-position adjustment, features that attest to the high quality of the movement.
The watch is functional; however, given its age, a service is recommended for more precise operation if used daily.
The case also features a double inner case (cuvettes) that protects the movement from dust and shocks, a typical solution for mid-to-high-end watches of the era.
