Description from the seller
Despite the title suggesting a moment of calm ("meditative"), the image conveys a sense of inner conflict and metamorphosis.
The Figure: In the center we find a fragmented body, almost baroque in its torsion. The flesh seems to melt and recombine into abstract organic forms. The presence of a clearly defined lower limb contrasts violently with the upper part of the torso, which becomes a tangle of tissues and shapeless matter.
The Color: The vibrant red of the drapery acts as the emotional focal point. It is a chromatic "heart" that anchors the figure to the earth, while the pallor of the skin and the earthy browns of the background evoke a dark, almost subterranean atmosphere.
The Environment: The "interior" is not a physical room, but a claustrophobic and timeless space. The vertical element on the right (perhaps an architectural detail or a stylized piece of furniture) closes the scene, increasing the sense of isolation.
