Bronze-base magnifying glass with a gilded brass bezel. Carved wooden base. United Kingdom. Late 19th century.
The piece is in good condition, with the glass neither chipped nor cracked. The brass protecting the magnifier shows some wear and scratches. It is screwed onto a bronze base, which in turn is attached to a carved wooden base (see images to get a proper idea of the condition). A unique piece with a strong presence.
It measures 9 cm in diameter at the wooden base, with the magnifier itself 7.5 cm in diameter. The height is 13 cm. Total weight of the piece is 170 g.
