Miguel is a Spanish visual artist who began his career in 1980 and has developed a solid and emotionally intense trajectory, recognized worldwide. He has exhibited in cities such as New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Buenos Aires and Mexico City, and his work is part of some of the most important collections internationally. He currently resides and creates in Italy.

His painting combines figure and abstraction with a personal language, where vibrant color, symbolic forms and deep textures speak of identity, memory and inner silence. Faceless figures, symbolic natures and scenes suspended in time form a poetic and sensitive universe.

With more than four decades of creation, Miguel de Miguel offers a body of work that is not only observed: it is experienced from the most intimate self. An art that crosses borders, styles and words.

In this work, the figure of the clown becomes an archetype of contemporary fragility. The geometric construction of the face, almost fragmented, suggests an identity in tension between the playful and the melancholic. The use of color—the vibrant green of the background against red and blue accents—intensifies that emotional contrast, where the mask does not hide but reveals.

The tired gaze, sustained in an unstable balance, shifts the image of the circus toward a more introspective territory: the show becomes interior. Here, the character does not act, but resists, embodying a poetry of vulnerability that runs through the entire composition.
