In my surreal cityscapes and the people within them, the boundaries between fiction and reality blur. These images can provoke thought and evoke different associations on an emotional level. The titles reveal a little of my own associations and feelings during the painting process. This graffiti-covered poster featuring a woman's head expresses confidence and resilience to me. The numerous thin layers of paint and the mixture of acrylic with different materials create greater depth and special lighting effects.
The mixed-media painting was exhibited in 2024 at the ARTe Art Fair in Konstanz and at the pop-up exhibition - Historic Gutshaus Wienhausen near Celle.
