AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This work is part of the new Tempus Fugit series created exclusively for Catawiki:
The marks left by color on the canvas with the spatula make me think of time passing, of experiences that carve indelible grooves into our lives. Engravings, scratches, fragments that fly away or remain on canvas as testimonies. Faded memories or vivid ones, to the point that they still burn. The fleeting nature of certain moments and the impossibility of retrieving them. It is difficult to imprison time in a concrete, intangible form; it expands and contracts depending on the emotional state we live in. Tempus fugit is my new painting series that recalls the swift flow of time and invites us to live the present fully, to seize the moment. Pause to gaze at the myriad nuances of color, lose yourself among the overlapping textures of the same.
Bright colors, pure energy, and color stratification are the main characteristics of the work that will make your environment unique.
This canvas has a particular history: underneath there was another painting that no longer belonged to me, I no longer felt it mine. So I decided to transform it into Tempus Fugit. Time that flows, new life experiences change me and thus change my art. The marks of the painting that was beneath enrich the current weave, imprinting even more the message of this painting series onto the canvas. A symbol of change and continuity together.
The painting will be shipped in a heavy cardboard box after being carefully wrapped in protective paper. A paper certificate of authenticity issued by the artist accompanies it.
For shipments outside the EU, it takes about 15/20 days to obtain the export certificate from the Italian Office of Art Goods. For purchases made outside the European Union there may be taxes or customs duties, which will be borne by the buyer. Colors may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings. About the artist:
Milena Bernardini believes in the communicative power of color, seeking musicality, balance, and harmony in her paintings by playing with shapes and colors. Painting represents a true life companion for her, a place where she can roam through various moods, meditate, and connect with the primordial part of herself. She gives life to her own work by mainly activating her instinctive side; she enjoys observing what the forms reflect back to her, often with very bright and contrasting colors. Milena does not question why lines and colors take on a certain life; she observes the canvas, listening to what she feels inside and what the image, as it develops, communicates to her emotionally. The hallmark of her works, therefore, is to strike the irrational and simultaneously make a thousand sensations vibrate. Milena Bernardini studied at several art studios to learn various painting techniques that she has since experimented with along her artistic journey. She has been painting for 15 years. Today she primarily uses oils and acrylics, and her preferred support is canvas. Her works are in private Italian and foreign collections; she has held six solo painting exhibitions: 2015 San Benedetto del Tronto (AP), 2016 Offida (AP), 2018 Martinsicuro (TE), 2019 Altidona (FM), 2023 Montottone (FM), 2025 Massignano (AP). She has participated in various public auctions and exhibited in numerous group shows both in Italy and abroad, including the following notable venues: 2014 Villa Vitali in Fermo, Agostiniana Gallery in Rome, 2015 Diocesan Museum of Terni, Fortezza di Civitella del Tronto, ArtExpò Barcelona, 2016 Bramante Rooms in Rome, Barocci Gallery in Urbino, National Castle of Bratislava, 2017 San Giorgio Castle in Lerici, Palazzo della Cultura in Reggio Calabria, 2018 historic Caffè Giubbe Rosse in Florence, Palazzo Pretorio in Gubbio, 2019 Officina delle Arti in Corridonia, 2022 Oratory of San Rocco in Torre di Palme, 2025 Ferrara Galeria Il Rivellino, San Benedetto del Tronto at Torre dei Gualtieri.
